Advanced Neck and Nerve Care
Many problems that cause neck pain stem from issues with your spine and the nerves that travel through it. The board-certified neck specialists in our Advanced Orthopedics and Spine Program have extensive experience helping patients with these conditions, which often result in neck pain that radiates into the shoulder, arm or other parts of the body.
Cervical Disc Replacement
Our skilled spine surgeons are the only physicians in the area to offer cervical disc replacement, an innovative approach to conditions that cause discs in your neck to deteriorate. Often performed as an outpatient procedure, cervical disc replacement can bring significant relief to people with pinched nerves, herniated discs and degenerative disc diseases.
Disc conditions were traditionally treated with spinal fusion, which can put pressure on the bones above and below the fused section and cause spinal degeneration. With cervical disc replacement, your surgeon replaces a worn out or damaged disc with a new man-made disc, allowing for better mobility and more natural movement.
Cervical Decompression
Pressure on your spinal cord can cause significant pain and is often caused by spinal stenosis (a narrowing of the spinal canal), pinched nerves, herniated discs and even some vascular conditions.
Our orthopedic surgeons perform many procedures to alleviate this pressure. Cervical decompression surgeries allow your surgeon to remove parts of the vertebrae (the bones in your spine) that put pressure on your spinal canal and the nerves that run through it. Similarly, discectomy and corpectomy involve removing entire discs or vertebrae to help relieve your symptoms.
