Minimally Invasive Shoulder Surgery

A variety of conditions, including arthritis and rotator cuff injury, can cause pain and dysfunction in the shoulder. To address this pain, doctors often recommend conservative treatment options, such as physical therapy or steroid injections, as a first line of defense. When those treatments no longer provide relief, surgery may do the trick. Request an appointment today to discuss your options.

Arthroscopic Surgery

Our experienced board-certified shoulder surgeons use arthroscopic surgery to treat a variety of shoulder problems. These procedures involve specialized, miniature instruments, including a small camera called an arthroscope, to repair bone spurs, a torn labrum, rotator cuff injury and other common shoulder problems. Recovery is often faster and rehabilitation easier than with traditional surgery.

Rotator Cuff Repair

Rotator cuff tendons that are damaged or torn can cause intense pain. Our orthopedic surgeons perform arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, which treats the injury accurately while sparing healthy surrounding tissue. As a result, you may heal faster with fewer complications and less postoperative pain. After surgery, you’ll likely notice greater flexibility and function in your shoulder.

Total Shoulder Replacement Surgery

When necessary, our surgeons can replace injured or damaged portions of your shoulder. In traditional shoulder replacement, surgeons place a metal ball with a stem in your upper arm bone and a plastic socket into the socket portion of your shoulder blade. In reverse shoulder replacement, surgeons reverse the operation of the ball-and-socket joint by attaching a metal ball to the shoulder blade and a plastic socket to the upper arm bone.
